A Piece of Americana

This teapot, a gift to employees during WWII from McCormick Spice Company in Baltimore Maryland, was given to my Aunt for packing spice jars while her husband and his brother fought the Nazis in Italy. When they returned home from the war, my Aunt set her brother in law up with a friend whom she worked with - my dad fell madly deeply, and my Aunt’s friend eventually became her sister in law, and my mother. While my parents have long left this earth, this teapot survived 75 years and came out with only a chip on the spout - still shining in its glossy finish of deep cranberry.
