Selling an 14k gold watch with enamel dial & A. Lange & Söhne movement
READ: Unfortunately, the balance staff is broken, so it does not keep time. With the part fixed/replaced could be appraised tens of thousands of dollars. I am deciding to sell at a *huge* discount since I cannot find the part. I might soon unlist if I am able to get it repaired.
The movement was clearly made by A.Lange & Sohne & I believe the dial was also. The movement showcases many of the details that Lange is known for, including screwed chatons, a swan-neck regulator & heat blued screws.
This watch was from an estate sale auction. I am unsure about its history, make date and if the case is original to the watch. Two watch experts appraised it for between 1910-1920. The movement serial seems to indicate that it was made earlier, long before wristwatches were in vogue. It may be a pendant watch conversion.
It is larger than many articulated-lug watches at 35mm case diameter without crown but wears larger because of the white dial & large dial aperture. The grand feu enamel dial appears flawless to me. Please refer to the picture with the dial removed for best assessment. Pictures show the watch on my 7.25" wrist. Note that the watch doesn’t run due to a broken part needing repair. However time can be set.
Case Color: Rose Gold
Bezel, Band & Dial Color: Gold
Case Size: 35 mm

Also are the lugs aftermarket attachments? It almost looks like a pocketwatch conversion watch.

@harenderkalonia Thanks so much for your interest! I think it's only the lever--I hope to take it to a watch specialist this week to review it again.

@harenderkalonia Thanks again. It’ll take some time—I am having it evaluated and possibly repaired by A Lange & Sohne themselves! I’ll know in the next few weeks but might delist soon depending on what I hear from them

I highly doubt that they would fix it.

@harenderkalonia You were right—it’s always strange working with these companies when it comes to antiques. Anyway, I was able to determine it’s the balance staff that is in need of repair/replacement. I am including pictures.

@rhj4376 Got it. thanks for keeping me posted. I once had a pattek philippe pocket watch that needed a part but company just won't fix it. Had to part with it for parts.
