smtonnies @sharezdotes I have very sensitive hearing but couldn't remember it ever bothering me in the 20 years or so that I've had it. I just popped a battery in it, and I can hear a quiet ticking with dead silence in the house. When my shih tzu came into the kitchen sniffing around, I wasn't able to hear the clock over her. I would say that if you're super-sensitive, avoid it, but I don't think it's a distraction. It's undetectable if I stand 4' from it with the furnace fan running.
