Vintage 80s (possibly older?) nautical anchor V-neck preppy knit sweater by Brenda French for Neiman-Marcus. So fun! 70% wool & 30% rayon, hand loomed knit, made in USA. Cream, bright blue, yellow & black colorway. Tagged Women’s size 1X fits more like a L/XL modeled oversize on a S/M 34B 5’5”. This may fit a XXL, but it will be fitted & more body hugging (knit is naturally stretchy). This had huge shoulder pads originally that I removed (if you want some I can provide another pair, I don’t know which ones went to this sweater sorry!). I washed this gently in sink in cold w/Woolite + lay flat dry & the blue did bleed on the cream throughout, but I think it’s very faint. This is stretched out a bit, but maybe it can be reblocked? I repaired several holes in the knit as well (see pics of repairs). Flaws reflected in price. Still such a cool piece! Layer over a button-up shirt for a Preppy look. 💙 Nautical / Sailor / Retro 40s 50s 80s / Preppy / Summer / Vacay / Resort / Fun / Funky / Indie / Coquette / Grandma Core / Eclectic Grandpa / Fisherman Core / Artsy / Crafty / Quirky / Twee / Whimsy vibes 💙 Width 18” pit to pit laying flat (stretchy) Length 27” shoulder to bottom hem Sleeves 23” pit to cuff #nautical #knit #anchor #sailor #vintage
