75”x86” Vintage/Antique Handmade and Hand Stitched “Pine Tree Quilt”. Hand-quilted red and white Pine Tree quilt, with a top pieced in the 1930s and finished in 1994. This is a beautiful and historically meaningful combination of eras, and red-and-white quilts are especially collectible. Pine Tree Quilt that was pieced in the 1930s by Winnie Soderquiat, but wasn’t quilted or completed until 1994. As was common, back in the 1930's someone would stitch the top and not have the financial resources or time to quilt it by hand and it would sit on a shelf, unused, for generations, until someone finally sells the quilt top to someone who will finish it off so it can be enjoyed. This striking red-and-white Pine Tree quilt features a classic design with roots in American folk art. The quilt top was expertly pieced in the 1930s using period-appropriate cotton fabrics, showcasing the traditional Pine Tree block—symbolic of endurance and nature. The bold red trees set against crisp white backgrounds create a dramatic and timeless contrast. Although the top dates to the 1930s, the quilt was lovingly hand-quilted and completed in 1994.
