About the Designer
"Alfred designed for several fashion designers before opening his own showroom in NYC. After more than 40 years in the couture fashion business, he closed his 57th Street salon in 1986 to retire. He was one of the city's last privately owned couture designers with his own label. Alfred's timeless custom made gowns were sold in stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus as well as many smaller upscale women's store around the country including Martha's and Sara Fredrick's of Palm Beach and NYC. Alfred's clientele ranged from First Lady Patricia Nixon and Anne Landers to many NYC and Palm Beach socialites and numerous show biz personalities. He also did the wardrobes for 10 consecutive Miss America's thru the 1960's".
Good pre-owned condition with normal signs of wear through-out, consistent with age. Lace in overall good condition (a few missing portions (mainly at back neck) and some frays and thread at waist. Some blemishes and wear to lining, including at arms. Nevertheless, Stunning!
