In 1970, a joke circulated among college students that Mickey Mouse wore a Spiro Agnew watch, implying that Micky Mouse, a cartoon character, was making fun of Spiro Agnew, a fellow cartoon character. In response, Dr. Hale E. Dougherty, a California physician, had a Spiro Agnew wristwatch designed so he could sell it. The design became such a hit that Agnew watches became a cultural phenomenon.
This T shirt features the face of the infamous watch.
