Divided back color-printed postcard of the Old Cathedral in St. Louis, Missouri, card number 4056. Front shows the columned portico and tall square bell tower with spire, flanked by brick buildings along the street. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, not stamped or postmarked but written on in pencil. Good vintage condition with light corner wear, a small spot at the top edge, and light toning and soiling on the back. Front caption: "4056 - Old Cathedral. St. Louis, Mo." Back has a "Post Card" heading in green with a sailboat "S" publisher logo at upper left, "For Correspondence" and "For Address Only" divisions, and "Printed in Germany" along the left edge. Pencil message reads roughly: "Dear Friend, come and see me when in town. Yours, M. Beard. Love to all." Addressed to a Mrs. Emma, with a street address added in blue crayon. A nice early view for St. Louis collectors and church architecture enthusiasts.
