Hand-colored printed postcard of The Episcopal Church, Phelps, N.Y., published by F.H. Wisewell of Phelps. The front shows the stone Gothic church with a bell gable topped by a cross, a crenellated tower, pointed-arch entry and leafy street trees along a dirt road. Divided back, standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, posted in 1913. Good vintage condition with light corner wear, a small bend at the upper right back corner, toning, and pencil writing on the back.
Front caption: "Publ. by F.H. Wisewell, Phelps, N.Y. The Episcopal Church."
Postmarked Phelps, N.Y., Jun 23, 1913 with a green 1 cent Washington stamp. Pencil message dated 6/23/13 to Charles Watson of Granville (as it reads), Ill.: "This is the Phelps Episcopal church here. Weather is lovely. Snapped the old swimming hole to-day. Love to all." Signed with initials. A nice small-town local-publisher card for Ontario County, New York and Episcopal church collectors.
