Linen postcard of the Riverside Church and Grant's Tomb, New York City, published by the Acacia Card Company of New York. Front shows the church's tall Gothic tower at right with the domed Grant's Tomb at left and the George Washington Bridge across the river in the distance. Standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, posted from New York in 1947. Good vintage condition with light corner and edge wear, some back toning, and "1947" written in pink ink on the front lower margin. Front captions: "Riverside Church and Grant's Tomb, New York City" (No. 34) and "George Washington Bridge in Distance," with number 14828. Back caption: "On Riverside Drive at 123rd Street, the Riverside Church, of 13th century French Gothic architecture, towers above the last resting place of General U. S. Grant." Imprint: Acacia Card Company, 258 Broadway, New York 7, N.Y. New York, N.Y. G.P.O. 1947 duplex cancel; no stamp present in the stamp box. Short message dated Jan. 29, 1947, "My best regards to both of you," signed Otty, addressed to Mrs. Crabtree in St. Louis, Missouri. A pencil inventory note "#21-1.00" is at the top of the back.
