Capture a piece of 19th-century New York history with this exceptional Morton & Bremner antique spring balance. A rare find for collectors of early American trade tools, this scale combines functional utility with the primitive elegance of the mid-1800s. This hanging scale features a striking brass faceplate stamped "WARRANTED AND MADE BY MORTON & BREMNER NEW YORK." The brass has been polished to a warm glow, contrasting beautifully with the dark, time-worn patina of the iron body and hook. It is a smaller, highly displayable size with a 24-lb capacity, making it an ideal accent for a primitive farmhouse kitchen or a curated collection of antique measuring devices. Key Features: Maker: Morton & Bremner, New York (Active mid-19th Century). Capacity: 0–24 lbs range. Material: Solid brass faceplate with iron casing and hand-forged style hooks. Markings: Clearly stamped "WARRANTED AND MADE BY MORTON & BREMNER NEW YORK". Condition: Excellent antique condition. The brass faceplate is bright and legible with expected surface scratches consistent with 150+ years of age. The iron backing and hooks show authentic oxidation and dark patina, adding to its rustic character. The spring mechanism moves, though it is sold primarily as a historical display piece rather than for precision weighing. Perfect For: Early American Tool Collections New York Historical Memorabilia Primitive & Farmhouse Kitchen Decor Rustic Gallery Walls
