chickletnjHi. It’s a unique design. The strap converts between a strap for a backpack and a strap to wear like a shoulder bag. You can technically remove the strap at the bottom to remove the backpack option but then it’s unclear how you can use the strap only for a shoulder bag… however the design makes it unnecessary for you to remove the backpack straps to use it as a shoulder bag. Please view my video on how the straps work
