Opalized Ammonite Fossil Sterling Silver Pendant

Ammonite fossil pendant with natural iridescent chambers and opalescence. This is a handcrafted sterling silver bezel setting highlights the fossil's organic spiral. Lightweight and eye-catching for everyday wear. Includes top loop for easy chain attachment. Ammonites were predatory marine mollusks (related to modern octopuses, squids, and cuttlefish) that lived in the ancient oceans. They went extinct roughly 66 million years ago, around the same time as the dinosaurs. The fossil itself is likely between 100 million and 400 million years old, with many commercial specimens originating from deposits in Madagascar.
