Yves Saint Laurent Late 1970's Chain Belt With Coloured Bakelite Discs

This rare YSL late 1960's or 1970's vintage chain belt with dangling coloured bakelite discs features alternating yellow, green, and red discs attached to the chain. There is a hook on each end, so you can adjust it. It has a YSL metal hang tag on one end. Each disc measures 1.35" in diameter, and features swirling, and mottled colouring. The full length of it is 37". It has one missing disc (see last photo). The missing one is the 6th from one end. One of the end pieces could be moved to that spot. Research provides the following info: "The Bakelite Discs: During the 1970s, YSL frequently collaborated with legendary accessory designers like Roger Scemama and experimented with non-traditional materials. They released highly collectible multi-colored and monochromatic Bakelite disc link belts. These pieces typically feature circular or geometric Bakelite panels joined by gold-tone or silver-tone metal chain links and are finished with a hanging, tear-drop or rectangular metal "YSL" signature tag. Authentication Note: Vintage collectors frequently test these specific 1970s YSL disc belts with Simichrome (a chemical testing paste), and they consistently test positive for authentic Bakelite, distinguished by its heavy weight and distinct colorways like tortoise, root beer brown, harvest gold, and deep reds."
