Vintage Blue White Porcelain Dobin Style Teapot with Rattan Handle

Vintage blue and white porcelain teapot with a rounded body, cobalt floral decoration and traditional woven rattan/bamboo bail handle. The design features large peony-like blossoms and leafy branches against a creamy white ground. The teapot includes its fitted porcelain lid and translucent amber-colored spout protector. The small opening in the lid is an intentional steam vent. The form and construction are characteristic of Japanese dobin-style teapots, although the piece is unmarked and the maker and country of origin are unknown. A beautiful addition to a blue-and-white collection, tea display, collected kitchen or chinoiserie-inspired interior. Measurements: 8.5" H with handle raised 5" H ceramic body with lid 7" W including spout 5.5" W across body Condition: Vintage condition with light age-appropriate wear. Woven handle is intact and sturdy. The original-style spout protector is present. There is a minor spot of roughness inside the lid on the rim.
