Vintage Burlwood Root Sculpture Bookends, Pair

A dramatic pair of vintage burlwood bookends formed from dense, naturally contorted sections of root wood. Polished surfaces contrast with deep voids, knots, live edges, and amber-toned burl figure. Their nearly cubic forms work as functional bookends, individual tabletop sculptures, or stacked as a single abstract composition. Unsigned, circa 1970s–80s. Each measures approximately 5.25" W × 4.25" D × 4.75" H. Good vintage condition with natural fissures, cavities, bark inclusions, and irregular edges throughout. Scattered surface wear and finish variation. One piece has slight natural play within its upper formation when grasped from the top, although no break or separated join is apparent. It displays normally and should be lifted from beneath.
