GEOFFREY BEENE Vintage Black Wool Jacket & Champagne Silk Skirt Suit, SZ10/12

This demi-couture mid-1990s skirt suit from Geoffrey Beene comprises a black collarless jacket with champagne and gray satin inserts and a matching champagne satin skirt. The inserts and skirt are heavy silk-satin fabrics with a slightly hammered texture. The jacket is made in black wool or wool blend fabric with a distinct texture. The satin inserts at the waist are hand sewn in the jacket. The jacket has no collar, small shoulder pads, and closes with a front zipper hidden by a placket. The satin inserts close with snaps. On the inside, the jacket is double-faced using hand sewn, folded French seams. The pencil skirt has waist darts, no waistband, and closes with a hidden back zipper; it's lined in champagne silk fabric. There are no fabric labels, but we believe they are as described (silk-satin and wool or wool blend). Labeled size 12. Based on the skirt measurements, we are also recommending the suit for size 10. Review the photos carefully because they too are part of the description. JACKET MEASUREMENTS* - Shoulder width is 16" - Underarm chest measurement is 40" - Waist is 34" - Sleeve length is 23" - Length is 25.5" down center back. SKIRT MEASUREMENTS* - Waist is 30" - Hips are 39.5" - Length is 23" *Do not rely only on the size label or estimated size to determine fit. Always compare actual measurements with a similar garment that fits you. CONDITION Both pieces are in excellent condition with no apparent flaws. They could be mistaken for brand new.
