Vintage Navajo graduated sterling silver bench bead necklace, acid tested. Approximately 60 grams of hand-formed two-piece domed beads, seamed at the equator. Larger beads are hand-stamped on both sides with repeating chisel and arrow motifs, while beads near the clasp are smooth. Graduates from approximately 9.5mm to an impressive 32mm center bead. Measures approximately 24 inches, finished with tapered cones and a hand-formed hook-and-eye closure. Unsigned, as is common with older bench bead work. Navajo attribution is based on traditional construction, hand-cut stamp work, seamed beads, and hand-formed findings. Very good vintage condition with even aged patina and darkening in the stamped recesses. Beads remain round and undented; strand is tight with no noted repairs or replacements. Ships well protected.
