White Collar Kingfisher Bird. Rare. Published February 1st, 1795. This print is 229 years old! Illustrator is Frederick Polydore Nodder (1770-1800) Purchased 26 years ago from Blue Chip Art Gallery in NYC Les Kafka. It has been carefully preserved in a temperature-controlled, smoke-free closet ever since. Very attractive! Intense colors. Excellent antique condition. Some light, age-appropriate toning. Minor, light surface soiling consistent with age. About the Artist: Illustrated by Frederick Polydore Nodder (1770–1800), a renowned British natural history artist who illustrated both plants and animals. His images are highly refined and executed with the strictest adherence to nature, printed on the finest quality paper of the era.
