Vintage CHLOE 1970 Ivory Pink Chiffon Ruffled Slip Dress Peignoir Karl Lagerfeld

Rare Late 1970s Chloé Paris New York, Karl Lagerfeld era, peignoir ensemble, comprised of a full-length blush-champagne chiffon slip dress / nightgown and matching dramatic sheer cape-style dressing robe. The slip features delicate shoulder straps, a softly gathered bodice, elastic waist, flowing floor-length skirt and extensive ruffle trim. Low, plunging back and sides. Rather than conventional closed side seams, the gown is open along both sides of the torso, with the front and back panels falling away from each other, and trimmed in cascading ruffles. The coordinating peignoir is equally extraordinary, cut in an ethereal, voluminous silhouette with wing-like sleeves and expansive cape-like chiffon panels. Multiple sweeping panels cascade around the body, each finished with delicate ruffled edging that forms an elaborate scalloped hem. The generous chiffon creates a beautiful floating effect in motion, characteristic of 1970s Chloé romanticism. Beautifully feminine and theatrical, with a distinctly French bohemian and luxury-lingerie aesthetic. Excellent condition. There is a small hole in one of the ruffles, which isn’t seen when worn; it hides in the ruffles. And a couple teeny tiny pin holes, also not noticeable.
