sopapeepeeOK, so the smallest opening at the shoelace like stitching in the back the smallest is 14” and it looks like it opens another 2-3 inches. Do you typically have to buy wide calf boots?

sopapeepee.I tried it around mine calf and it is about the same size as yours. I have huge calves and it fit, but my foot’s too big. I wear a size 10 to get all the way down, but I did get it like to the very largest part of my calf and it did fit. So you’d have to take the string all the way out and then re string it once you get your calf in there to fit it appropriately. I hope this helps. :)
