Vintage Taxco sterling silver screw back earrings featuring an open teardrop silhouette with turquoise mosaic inlay.
From our research it is our opinion that these mid-century modernist earrings are the work of artisan Lucio Lopez (LL) from Taxco, Mexico, based on the LL 925 maker's plaque shown in the photos and the included identification summary card.
Each stud-style earring displays hand-cut turquoise stones set in an abstract mosaic pattern around a central open oval, creating a bold geometric look that bridges traditional Southwestern materials with 1950s modernist design.
The reverse sides are finished in smooth silver and fitted with screw back findings for non pierced ears; the earring fronts have tested as 925 sterling silver, while the screw back mechanisms are base metal.
Good vintage condition with moderate patina, tarnish, and scattered surface scratches to the silver from age and wear. Turquoise mosaic inlay is complete with some small chips, surface wear, and darkened filler lines between stones visible in the photos. Screw back mechanisms show finish wear and darkening yet the threads turn smoothly and hold securely on the ear, and the identification summary card shown will be included.
