I steamed it, laid it out, and photographed this scarf, and it wasn't until the very end when the sunlight caught the scarf at a certain angle that I realized that the scarf itself is a very dark PURPLE. It really looks black. Beautiful chain stitch embroidery. No flaws. I have other chain stitch scarves in my closet.
