Many people do not know that crochet items and yarn are one of the biggest cat/kitten killers known to vets. I learned this from experience.
Its been a few years that onix has recovered. But since I do sell crochet I want to share my story with all the other pet owners.
In 2021 Onix was taken into the vet because he had eaten a "string of some sort" and it blocked his tract through and through. I know it had to do with my yarn because I didn't just have random strings around. He didnt eat or drink for 3 days and when I could finally take him to the vet, he was in critical condition. 4,000 dollars later he had surgery to remove the yarn from his system.
I do not sell my crochet for pets and I will never make cat or dogs toys either. Being it is your pet its your choice to seek these items out, and use them for your pets. I would never wish another pet or pet owner to go through what I did with the unknown dangers of having yarn around pets without supervision.
Keep your pets safe, and thank you for reading!

spiralpantiesOne of my girls was playing with a yarn ball while I was taking a nap. I woke up with her chewing swallowing a long line of yarn that was wrapped across the room. I counted to 20 seconds while I slowly pulled out the yarn string from her mouth... and insides. I know. Disgusting. I caught her right in the nick of time before she would've been required to go to a vet and possibly surgery. Learned my lesson that day and haven't looked back since. All yarn and thread stays locked up.

craftsnboutique@spiralpanties thats so lucky you could catch it! All mine is locked away too now. When they try to play with it when I'm crocheting I dont let it slide once. I never want another cat to go through this!
