Striking vintage natural burl/root wood abstract sculpture mounted on a substantial live-edge wood slab base. This one-of-a-kind organic form showcases extraordinary swirling burl grain, natural cavities, knots, fissures and sculptural contours that change dramatically when viewed from different angles. The display side has been carefully shaped and polished to emphasize the richly figured grain and warm reddish-brown tones of the wood, while the reverse retains much of the rugged natural bark/root surface. The contrast between the refined face and untouched organic reverse gives the piece tremendous character.
