DESCRIPTION Striking vintage costume jewellery set featuring a bold cocktail ring and matching round stud earrings in a rich coral-red colour. Dating approximately to the 1970s–1980s, the set reflects the era’s love of oversized statement jewellery and combines Bohemian, ethnic-revival and Modernist/Brutalist-inspired styling. The ring has a large polished oval cabochon made from vintage jewellery plastic, designed to imitate red coral. It is set in a chunky gold-tone base-metal mount with a hammered texture and geometric border detailing. The wide open-back band makes a dramatic architectural statement. The earrings feature smooth, glossy coral-red enamel discs in simple gold-tone settings, with post-and-butterfly fastenings. Please note that the materials differ: the earrings are enamelled, while the ring features a jewellery-plastic cabochon.
