This listing is for, we would imaging limited production of a vintage British commemorative ceramic plate produced for the East Keswick Peace Celebrations, July 19, 1919. East Keswick is a village and civil parish in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, West Yorkshire, England. It lies four miles south west of Wetherby, North Yorkshire (Wetherby's had only 100 house in 1914- so must have been quite small ).
The piece was to mark the post-WWI peace celebrations held throughout Britain. The patriotic design features British flags, a lion and medallion-style portraits of Allied leaders. The lower portion is clearly inscribed “EAST KESWICK PEACE CELEBRATIONS JULY 19, 1919.” A wonderful piece of Yorkshire and WWI commemorative history, representing the local celebrations that followed the end of the
No maker's mark and really in our opinion nothing to fault given the age of the piece. This piece was located in Malton , , North Yorkshire, England a town not far away.
The plate measures approximately 6 " in diameter across.
