I offer here a scintillating pair of *double certified* antique-cut Moissanite studs called “old European cuts” that I had custom-cut so I could introduce antique cuts to you! (Please note that these stubborn stones wouldn’t let me capture good photos of them, so please refer to their video to see their true character!) The main difference between a modern round brilliant gemstone and an old European cut (OEC) gemstone is the faceting! While they share the same amount of facets as round brilliant stones (58), OEC stones have chunkier and fewer facets on the pavilion (the “pointy end” of the stone), a smaller table (the top flat facet), more facets arranged around the table and a much thinner girdle. The additional facets on the top side of the stone create an incredibly sparkly Moissanite! These beautiful stones are set in Argentium silver double-claw mountings that give them yesteryear charm as a nod to Victorian era jewelry! The 1mm Argentium posts ensure that the included **sterling silver** European backs fit extra securely! The backs have 6mm silver disks that snug the earrings against your earlobe while also stabilizing and centering them, and the mountings and backs are 18k Seiko-electroplated with white rhodium!
