Gorgeous pre 1890 Victorian 14” serving platter with blue and white transfer of Chinoiserie Willow pattern. This is pre McCarthy Tariff Act, before country of origin was required. It is also unbranded, a common practice of manufacturing in the late 19th century in the Staffordshire region potteries. The pattern is the traditional Blue Willow with three persons crossing the bridge. Gorgeous cobalt blue and intricate details through out the platter. I have added screen shots of a query regarding the pattern’s origin. It’s really very lovely to know this history and how the story flows around the platter. It is in remarkable condition for the age. A few small flaws shown in photos. The “14” stamped on the back indicates the size per google search; it measures 14” from the bowl drop to the opposite edge. From my pet-friendly and smoke free home.
