Antique Anglo-Indian copper clad wood box with brass hardware dates to the late 19th to early 20th century, approximately 1890-1920.
The copper and brass surfaces have an attractive aged patina with considerable variation in the color.
Large ornate brass lock escutcheion, decorative brass bosses and appliques, a large raised brass ornament on the lid and substantial brass carrying handles on both sides.
10" wide x 6" deep x 5.5" tall
The interior has been relined at a later date with bright pink felt applied over fitted cardboard panels. The lining is not original to the box. The lock hardware is original and intact, but the key is mission. Two small brass pieces are missing on the back - see photos.
Condition is consistent with age and use, including oxidation, discoloration, scratches, small dents, surface wear and irregularities to the thin copper cladding.
