Pedro Castillo is a highly regarded Mid Century Taxco master silversmith. Before opening his own workshop (taller) in Taxco in the 1940s, he trained and crafted pieces alongside legends William Spratling at Taller de las Delicias and Héctor Aguilar. Castillo’s pieces from the 1940s through the 1970s bear several hallmark variations, including PAC, typically stamped alongside Sterling and Eagle Mark 3 as seen on this exact piece. Deep, hand applied antique oxidation within the crevices creates dramatic shadows against the high-polish silver spheres, resulting in a kinetic, light refracting depth that moves effortlessly with the wearer. Each 6.25mm individual organic granule has been hand formed in solid 925 sterling silver spheres cascade in an intricate, grape like helical weave.
