Vintage 1950s Jille Original Black Iridescent Feathered Bucket Hat with Original Box. A stunning mid-century statement piece by Jille Original. This hat is entirely covered in iridescent black coque (rooster) feathers, hand-applied in a swirling spiral pattern that catches green, gold, and silver highlights in the light — you can see this in the interior detail photos. The exterior feather work is beautiful and shows no feather loss. Fully brimless cloche/turban silhouette, so it sits close to the head for a dramatic, sculptural look. Black grosgrain interior band. Includes the original red/gold damask patterned hat box with braided cord handle. Condition: Hat Exterior: Excellent vintage condition. Feathers are lush, intact, and retain beautiful sheen. Hat Interior: Very clean interior structure with intact sweatband and United Hatters Union tag. The fabric Jille Original brand/UHU tag show light age-related foxing (see photos) but is the only place that shows any sign of age. Box: Good vintage condition with light shelf wear/a few scuffs.
