Otagiri Mercantile Co. (OMC), likely dating to the 1970s-80s based on the maker's sticker on the base. Each piece features a pinched pouring spout and a mottled sandy-tan glaze with rich brown speckling, hand-painted in matching dark glaze with a bold vertical stripe motif and stacked dot patterns — one topped with a small check mark accent, the other with a ringed circle, likely denoting oil vs. vinegar. Otagiri pieces are popular with collectors of retro Japanese ceramics and mid-century import stoneware. A wonderful set for displaying on a kitchen counter, styling a tablescape, or adding authentic vintage Japanese ceramic charm to your home. Sold as a pair.
Condition: The vinegar cruet (with the check-mark motif) has some chipping along the outer rim — please see photos for detail. The oil cruet appears to be in good condition with no visible chips. Please examine all photos closely and message with any questions before purchasing.
