Beautiful pearl necklace with 14k plum gold. A vintage collectors must have. Plum gold means it’s guaranteed purity of gold. A form of gold that is sought after. The pearls have a beautiful luster to them. I’m not a gemologist but I believe the black stones are onyx. Small indentation on gold ball as shown. Special vintage gifts , Christmas gifts for vintage lovers
This necklace is dated 1941, I.P.S makers mark didn’t appears on any other year.
( IPS stands for Imperial Pearl Syndicate which was founded by Joseph Gladstone in 1917, later renamed the Imperial Pearl Syndicate in 1941.
It was during the post-war period that Imperial became the first to bring the valued Akoya pearls to the United States from Japan. (This does not mean this necklace is Akoya, I am not sure what type of pearl it is)
