ssmckissack@jessicamills886 No worries! To be clear, that measurement is from the top of the gown to the floor rather than a physical "shoulder to hem". Because people vary in measurement of that area from the top of chest to shoulder I thought measuring this way would be more accurate.

ssmckissackI did not have any alterations done. I actually ended up not wearing it because I found something else that worked better for me. It was a tough decision, though! This dress had my heart! However, the original Posher stated that she wore it once for her daughter's wedding and only had it altered for length. She said that she is 5'4" and wore a 3" heel.

ssmckissack@jessicamills886 I asked my son to measure it. He said he measured it both hanging and lying flat. He says the front is 48" and the back is 60" (it does have a slight train). I can tell you that I am 5'3" and when I tried it on (in bare feet) I thought I would either need heels or need to get it hemmed a little.
