There's a quiet confidence to this piece — the kind of studio pottery that feels collected rather than manufactured. Hand-thrown with a softly asymmetrical silhouette, it blends saturated turquoise, periwinkle blue, and a moody oxblood glaze band that melts organically between the two. The result feels deeply rooted in late 20th century American studio pottery: earthy, sculptural, and intentionally imperfect.
The form itself is beautiful from every angle. A curved handle balances the tapered neck and gently flared lip, while the incised linear motif on the front adds subtle texture without overwhelming the glaze work. The matte turquoise lower body contrasts beautifully against the glossy upper glaze, creating that distinctly kiln-driven variation collectors love.
This is the sort of piece that works equally well styled on open shelving, layered into a pottery collection, or holding branches on a dining table. It has presence without shouting.
Measures approximately 9.25" tall, 6" wide including handle, and 4" deep at the widest point.
Good vintage condition overall. One visible area of glaze loss on the turquoise body as shown in photos. No cracks observed. Interior glaze remains glossy and intact. Minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot consistent with age and use.
Smoke-free home.
