1970’s Celebrity NY Oversized Elephant Statement Necklace

This recognizable 1970’s costume jewelry piece by Celebrity NY features a large, brushed silver-tone African elephant head pendant. It is highly sought after by collectors of vintage estate jewelry. Features openwork cutout filigree ears, a textured trunk and forehead, and prominent smooth tusks. Embedded with almond-shaped, sparkly blue rhinestone eyes. Affixed directly to a thick, chunky silver-tone anchor/link chain. Chain measures 22” and is stamped “Celebrity” and “Patent 3427” which refers to the specialized, highly functional jewelry clasp and attachment mechanism granted in 1969. Elephant head measures 4.5” x 3.5” and is also stamped “Celebrity”. Some minor plate wear as photographed.
