Authentic mid-century CORO clip-on earrings featuring the rare dual-stamped hardware used by the brand during the late 1950s–early 1960s. These earrings display both:
• The CORO-stamped clip arm
• The oval Made in England sunburst pad with the registered design number 280150
This combination confirms Coro’s known practice of outsourcing certain premium clip mechanisms to English factories while keeping their own branding on the clip arm.
Designed as dimensional domed floral clusters, the earrings feature:
• Brilliant hand-set aurora borealis rhinestones
• Satin-finished navette pearls arranged in layered petals
• Multi-tiered radial metal architecture characteristic of Coro’s better line
• Heavy gold-tone metal with crisp prongs and clean solder points
• Coro clip arm hallmark + English sunburst patent pad
• Excellent structural integrity and strong clip tension
The reverse engineering shows classic Coro mid-century construction: a spoked radial frame, circular stone wells, and their trademark angled clip arm. The addition of the English sunburst patent pad makes this pair a desirable hybrid-production collectible.
Condition: Very good vintage, brilliant stones, tight clips, no structural flaws.
A museum-level example of cross-manufactured Coro jewelry, highly collectible due to the dual hallmarking and superior construction.
