Kate Spade New York - Iconic “Sam” Bag . VIntage Made in Taiwan This is a very nice example of a 90’s edition of the iconic Kate Spade “Sam” bag. The inner tag specifies it was made in Taiwan. Online research indicates Sam bags were manufactured there from 1997 - 1999 (before China), making these a more hard-to-find vintage Sam. This bag is black and the body measures 11 inches wide (across the bottom), 7.5 inches tall (measured from the middle of the bag) and it is 4.75 inches deep. There are some light scratches in the nylon on various parts of the bag, typical of nylon handbags 25+ years old. These are not readily seen at first glance, only when held to the light and/or examined up close. The bag is very clean, inside and out, no odors. The bottom is flat, no feet. There is a long zippered pocket on one side of the interior, and the bag closes with a magnetic snap. The bag has double nylon straps that have an 11 inch drop.
