Antique WHITING & DAVIS 1930s Gold Mesh Purse With Ornate Rhinestone Clasp

A wonderful Vintage Antique 1930s Whiting & Davis Co. glittering flat metal gold tone mesh Flapper Purse with shell shaped rhinestone metal clasp. The frame has a great deco shape with a glittering rhinestone studded shell shaped clip for the closure. Clearly marked with the Whiting Davis logo on the inside of both sides of the frame and a Whiting Davis cloth tag sewn into the lining. Fully lined; the lining is a pale yellow satin. Measures 3.5" across the frame, 4" across the bottom, 4.5" long , the chain handle is 8". Condition is very good considering age; it opens and closes perfectly, inside is clean but has hand written “M.E.N.” initials on one side. I don’t know if top of clam was designed with a gold channel or if a stone is missing, as there is no glue residue to indicate an embellishment was ever glued in that area.
