Gold-Dipped Sand Dollar Pendant - vintage

Bought this in 1985 from an artisan in South Carolina who collected sand dollars from the beaches, washed and bleached them, and then dipped them in gold (24kt maybe). Still in almost perfect condition with very few marks on the backside. No chipped edges. Bale could probably use replacing. Beautiful piece that always draws compliments when I wear it on my 24” gold popcorn chain - not included!
