So chic and classic — unfortunately I wear a backpack to work and it’s not conducive to the cape. Only worn twice, excellent shape. Cape Coat in stonewashed denim takes its cue from 1800s workwear, when shoulder capes were added for both weather protection and reinforcement. That extra layer helped keep rain off the seams and made the garment more durable for anyone carrying tools or packs across the shoulders. We’ve carried that idea forward here, not as a removable piece, but as a built-in cape, held with buttons to keep it close and grounded against the wind. The fit is unisex and deliberately easy, cut to flatter and to layer comfortably over a light sweater. It’s versatile, functional, and quietly striking. Luxurious organic cotton grosgrain, naturally plant-dyed for depth and texture. With side pockets and a hidden inside chest pocket, the Cape Coat blends history with modern wear, an old idea reworked for daily life. -All of our clothing is garment dyed with plants, and finished with a non-toxic enzyme wash. We do not use any chemicals or heavy metals in the processing of our fabrics or dyeing of our clothing. Our fabric is 100% organic and sourced from sustainable mills in Japan, each garment is lovingly sewn and dyed in small batches in Los Darker colored garments may feel stiff to the touch but will soften with regular washing.
