Vintage Italian Rectangular Link Biker Chain in 14k yellow gold.
18” length. Each link is approx 3mm long, 2mm wide.
7 grams in weight. (Current gold value as of today, July 20 is $525)
Secure spring-ring clasp.
Difficult to show the beauty of this chain in the pics.
Versatile gold chain that layers beautifully with other necklaces and is substantial enough to hold for pendants.
Stamped 171AR and 562 near clasp in a cartouche. 562 translates to 13.5k which is rare. See details below about the markings:
The Meaning of the Stamps171 AR (The Manufacturer Mark): The AR stands for Arezzo, a historic city in Tuscany that serves as one of Italy's primary gold manufacturing hubs. The number 171 is the unique registration number assigned by the government to the specific goldsmith workshop that crafted the chain.
562 or 585 (The Gold Purity Mark): While you noted "562", this stamp type is structurally reserved for the metal fineness. It is almost certainly 585, which is the European standard designation for 14-karat gold (meaning the piece is 58.5% pure solid gold mixed with structural alloys).
You can determine if the piece is true vintage based on the geometric border around the 171 AR stamp:1934 – 1968: If the letters and numbers are enclosed inside an elongated hexagon shape, the chain was manufactured between these years.

arobb123@ag416 thx for your interest in this chain. It’s a great chain and while I LOVE it, I bought it to wear with a large elephant charm and it isn’t a great pairing. I’m trying to downsize my collection to only those items that I wear regularly. (Would be easier if I stopped buying more - haha) 😆

arobb123@ag416 added a pic of stamps and content to the listing to describe the markings. I realized I didn’t have that listed - apologies.

aysiagHi! Do you have a clearer picture of the stamp or a magnifying glass or loupe you could take a picture of it through?

arobb123@aysiag thetic were the best I could get when an earlier buyer asked for the same. I can see clearly through the loop but it’s hard to get a picture of them. Mark will authenticate, however.

arobb123@aysiag Thx for your offer. I am firm on my last due to the 20% poshmark fee. Otherwise my earnings are almost to melt value.
