Vintage pair of hand embroidered pieces, for slippers (?)

A pair of identical embroideries hand stitched on felt and basted together. The embroiderer attached her handwritten name and address on a piece of fabric. I believe when I showed this to women in a needlework group years ago that one of them said these are the tops of slippers, but I’m not sure about that and couldn’t find anything online. For display or to make something of your own design. Excellent condition. From a smoke free and pet free home.
