This blouse, designed by Nantucket designer Sigrid Olsen, known for relaxed natural-fiber clothing inspired by coastal living, is in a lovely citrus shade -- not quite green, but not yellow, either. Although most linen today is enzyme washed, this piece is 100% linen in a more traditional weave, so it feels crisp and slightly firm when new or freshly laundered. Linen naturally softens and becomes more supple with wear and washing. Many people “season” linen by washing it several times in cool water and tumble drying on low, which gradually relaxes the fibers and brings out the soft texture linen is known for.
