Size 14 Waist 15.5” Length 33.5” Alcott & Andrews was a women’s specialty retailer founded in 1984 and was most popular during the mid-to-late 1980s before filing for bankruptcy in 1989, though garments continued to be sold into the early 1990s. The 100% silk fabric is typical of the higher-quality department store and boutique clothing from that era. The tea-length, softly gathered silhouette and romantic floral print are hallmarks of the transition from late-1980s fashion into the early-1990s “Laura Ashley” and cottage-inspired aesthetic. The dark teal background with oversized florals was especially popular around 1989–1991.
