Antique Chinese Folk Art, Carved Hardwood Mooncake Mold — Phoenix & Cloud Motif Estimated 19th–early 20th century. Antique Chinese hand-carved hardwood mooncake mold featuring two deeply carved cavities - a detailed phoenix bird with scaled feathers and circular eye, and a domed cloud/sun motif with circular decorative elements. Both images are traditional symbols of good fortune and celestial blessing. Rich aged patina is consistent with heavy use and genuine age. 12.5" L x 3" W x 1" thick. Wood type is unidentified, but is likely hardwood which is traditional to Chinese confectionery molds. Minor age-related cracking. No repairs or restoration.
