Early American Pattern Glass. This cruet/ decanter has imperfections in the chemical make up of the glass that, combined with sunlight, has turned a faint purple with time, drastically increasing its collectibility. While the body of the piece is pressed glass, the stopper has had the pattern cut into it. The stopper has also started to turn purple, leading me to assume it is the original one.
Measures 6.5" Tall. Excellent Condition, Stopper has a few small Chips. The Pontil is visible on the bottom, leading me to estimate it at the older end of the EAPG date range. The base has been smoothed after cooling because the seams that faintly run down the sides are not visible on the bottom.
The inside of the base shows some iridescence from age and doesn't detract from the value. There may also be some mineral deposits in it caused by our parents' hard water, Mom liked to use things for vases.
