Lot of 14 original vintage color photographs believed to show Seoraksan National Park near Sokcho, South Korea, circa the late 1970s to early 1980s. The jagged granite ridge appears to be Ulsanbawi, and the Buddhist worship scene was likely photographed at Sinheungsa Temple within the park.
Images include autumn mountain scenery, a Buddhist altar with monk and worshipers, traditional Korean folk musicians and dancers, crowds in hanbok, a procession, tour buses, roadside shops, village homes, and a man carrying a very large bundle of branches or leaves. The performances may be connected with the Seorak Cultural Festival, but the exact event is unconfirmed.
Each rounded-corner photograph measures approximately 4.875 x 3.5 inches.
Acquired from the Douglasville, Georgia estate of retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Patricia Jane Harrington. Exact photographer, date and identities are unknown.
Condition includes fading, reddish/magenta color shift, overexposure, scratches, surface wear and other age-related imperfections. Please review all images carefully. Sold as one lot.
