bargainhunter13Hi! I’m really interested in these but I’m confused about the waist measurement. It looks like these have a 30” waist which is larger than I’d expect. Are they truly 15” across?

micahsimmons615@bargainhunter13 Yes, the 30” waist measurement is accurate. 😊 I double-checked it. These are a low-rise style with approximately a 7½–8” rise, so the waistband sits lower around the hip area rather than at the natural waist. That’s most likely why the actual waistband measurement is larger than the tagged size 27.

bargainhunter13@micahsimmons615 Thanks so much for responding! 😊 Now I’m even more confused though. The listing says it’s a mid rise ( and the photo shows a 9” rise.) Isn’t this the Perfect Rise style?

micahsimmons615@bargainhunter13 You’re right, and I apologize for the confusion! 😊 I misspoke in my last comment. The rise measures approximately 9”, as shown in the photos, so mid-rise is the better description. The jeans are tagged a size 27, and I did double-check the waistband measurement and it is approximately 30” around. I always recommend going by the actual measurements in the photos for the best fit. Thank you for catching that!

micahsimmons615@bargainhunter13 The 27 is the manufacturer’s tagged size, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the waistband itself will physically measure exactly 27”. I rechecked the jeans and they are definitely tagged a 27, and the actual waistband measures approximately 30” around. The rise is approximately 9” as shown in the photo. I can’t really explain why the manufacturer sized them that way,

micahsimmons615@bargainhunter13 Since even a mid-rise jean sits below the natural waist and closer to the upper hip area, the actual waistband can measure larger than the tagged waist size. You can also see in the mannequin photos where the waistband actually sits on the body.
